Senator Coleman Part of Bi-Partisan Energy Group
Senator Coleman Part of Bi-Partisan Energy Group
Senator Coleman has joined the Senate’s Gang of 16, a bi-partisan group of legislators who have pledged to break the Congressional deadlock on energy policy. The Group of 16 will introduce a compromise, “all of the above” style energy bill when Congress re-convenes and are dedicated to its passage. As Senator Coleman rightly points out, energy policy isn’t a Republican or Democrat issue, it’s an American issue and he will work to bring people together to see that sound, responsible, forward-thinking policies are adopted for our future. He believes that all energy-related options must be on the table and fully discussed and considered by the House and Senate. Minnesota’s families, businesses and the American people deserve leadership that is willing to consider all possibilities when it comes to how our country uses and produces energy.
Star Tribune Disagrees with Franken on Card Check
Even the Star Tribune thinks Al Franken’s position on EFCA or Card Check legislation is wrong. The paper’s editorial agrees with Senator Coleman that a secret ballot should not be taken away from workers voting on organizing a union. As the editorial rightly points out, doing away with the secret ballot provision would open workers to potential harassment and retaliation. Senator Coleman is steadfast in his commitment to continuing one the principle tenants of democracy – a secret ballot for elections.

Back To The Coleman BlogSay No to Gangs!
Dear Senator Coleman,The Gang of 16 is NOT proposing an "All of the Above" strategy. They're proposing to open a little drilling, if gullible Republicans like yourself allow their restrictions on most drilling to stay in place.
By joining this Gang, you have helped the Democrats to derail the movement towards a solution (It's called "Drill here, Drill now, Pay less") to the energy crisis. The rise in the price of fuel will be slowed a little bit, but it will keep rising enough to cripple our economy in a few more years.
Did you notice how the Gang of 14 guaranteed that America's judiciary would remain liberal and activist? They're doing it again.
I urge you to leave this gang. You are on track to be remembered as a useful idiot.

President
I am afraid that I must agree with Michael. The "Gang of 16" are useful idiots for the Democrats and will never allow sufficient oil drilling to be a true option for ending our dependence on foreign suppliers. I so deeply regret that Norm feels it necessary to appeal to the Far Left and the stop progress now crowd who believes that we should all live more simply and poorly in order to save mother earth.I will not be voting for Norm this year; after supporting his first election with many hours of service and literature distribution. Norm; you are a major disappointment to me and to every Republican who believes that the market has answers if only Congress will get out of the board room and allow it to work.
